John Lewis is a native of Hopkinsville, KY, where he began color guard in middle school. He attended Austin Peay State University, majoring in broadcast media with a focus on radio, television, and film. He has performed with Eklipse Winter Guard (2001, 2003) and Moxie Visual Theater (2004–2005).

`A teacher and choreographer for over twenty-two years, his work has been featured in numerous high school color guard programs across Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. Mr. Lewis has worked with distinguished organizations such as Villa Rica High School, Lanier High School, Hiram High School, McEachern High School, Rockdale High School, and Noir Independent Winter Guard.

A resident of Powder Springs, Mr. Lewis works in the service industry. In his free time, he enjoys movies, working out, and attending live music events.
