Marching Band Volunteers

WE NEED YOU!

There are many ways to volunteer to help the marching band! We are very active and we have over 140 students to support! Volunteering can be often or whenever you have a free day- we will always take the extra hands! Learn more about our Band Booster Association towards the bottom of the page.

Below are just SOME of the ways you can help!

Home Game Concessions

During home games, we open up concessions on the home AND visitor sides of the field. We need help at the registers, prepping food portions, and a few "master chefs" on the grill and fryer for burgers and fries.

Band Camp Volunteers

For two weeks during the summer, students attend band camp! They learn the music and the choreo for our Marching Band Show. We need help with our Cooling Tent Stations (includes handing out snacks and helping with first aid needs), monitoring lunch, and even serving dinner on some nights.

Event Parking

There are a few events where we help host the parking! This includes the Annual Rodeo in Villa Rica and (hopefully) the SAPA competition. These are HUGE fundraisers for us and we need help directing traffic to parking spots!

Section Parents

It is tradition for students to receive a goody bag for every game & competition. This can include trinkets, candy, chips, bubbles, Gatorade, etc. Section parents should coordinate to donate small items to the Section Lead Parent who will bag them up and deliver them before the game days. Some sections even have matching T-shirts made!

Item Donation

These kids get so hungry! We welcome snack donations, medical supplies, and various other items the kids use (like spray deodorant). Please see our Amazon Wishlist in the Quick Links tab for our current needs.

What is the Band Boosters?

We are a group of parents who help coordinate and organize fundraising, special events, uniforms, concession sales, volunteers, and anything else that the directors and/or students need to have an amazing program. There are official Board Members and Committee Chairs who help run specific aspects of the Band Boosters Association.

You do NOT have to have a title to come to the monthly meetings or to help on a committee!

The more hands the better! Let us know if you're interested in helping!

The Villa Rica Band Boosters Association, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that supplements the financial commitment from the school system.  We maintain and support an annual budget that exceeds $100,000. This budget represents the funds needed to run and execute the day to day activities of the VRHS Marching and Concert Bands (i.e. Band Camp, Instructors, Marching Band Competitions, Concert Band Large Group Performance Evaluations, etc.).  These funds are met primarily through the fundraising efforts of the Villa Rica High School Band Boosters Association, Inc.

Our Purpose: The purpose of VRBB is to support all aspects of the band program while adhering to the vision of the Band Director. This includes but is not limited to the following: individual and collective instruction of the student musicians, professional development for the Director of Bands, fundraising, procurement of instruments, equipment, music, teaching materials, and to coordinate parent/volunteer activities. The VRBB is empowered to address the needs and actions of the band program at Villa Rica High School. The vision for the VRBB is to ensure the successful outcomes for all students. The VRBB will operate strictly for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501( c)(3) of the IRC.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the VRBB will be within the constraints of Federal/State laws, Carroll County Schools (local school board) policies, and guidelines. The VRBB will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assist the Band Director in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of an annual budget for the Villa Rica High School Band Program.

  • Disseminate information to parents and band supporters.

  • Serve as a liaison between the school, school organizations, the community, and the local school board by collecting and disseminating information about band activities and achievements.

  • Provide Booster information for inclusion in the band handbook. Assist with the development, duplication, and distribution of the handbook at the Band Director’s discretion.

  • Coordinate designated fundraising activities to provide opportunity for students to offset their band dues and supplement the general account.

  • Conduct fundraisers and accept donations for the Villa Rica High School Band Program.

  • Provide input to the Band Director for formulating the strategic direction of the Villa Rica High School Band Program.

  • Make recommendations regarding a parental involvement/networking plan to ensure that all parents are informed about and have an opportunity for meaningful input into Villa Rica High School Band Booster decisions via email and Booster meetings.

  • Foster school spirit throughout the Villa Rica community.

  • Play an integral role in the overall development and success of the band program.  This includes, but is not limited to, supporting the Band Director in professional development opportunities which foster musical growth for the student musicians in the band program.
